The advantage of NFC technology in smartphones. Review from Sunday 21.

NFC is pretty tightly integrated into our everyday life, and becomes something convenient and familiar. Originally this NFC was created as a means of transferring small data from device to device, a small range (only 10 cm) has found the technology for more righteous things. Of course, it can be used as a means of transferring data such as notes, contacts and various links, coordinates.

During the invasion of many payment systems, such as Apple Pay, Android Pay, and other NFC has become more used in smartphones for contactless payment. Once you tie up your bank card, you can already pay for products and services through special terminals just by tying up your favourite gadget. The point is that terminals do not read personal information, will use an encrypted ID, which activates your card remotely. But is NFC really the benchmark of security for users.

Is it safe to use NFC on your smartphone?

Since we talked earlier about the small range of NFC, it's literally 10cm right next to you there will be an intruder who wants to intercept data, which is almost impossible. For example, Bluetooth is even more vulnerable than NFC. For payment, an encrypted token is formed that simply won't allow any data to be intercepted without your knowledge. Even if your smartphone has been stolen, no one can use NFC except you, because it requires your fingerprint, password or even facial recognition. So with NFC, no one will be able to use the payment data but you.

It's interesting that almost all modern smartphones are adopting NFC except for Meizu and Xiaomi, because contactless payment with QR codes is most commonly used in China. The NFC convenience is pretty easy to use and completely secure, so when you buy a new device make sure it has NFC in it - it will make your purchases much easier.
