Guerlain Mitsouko is still the same generous perfume 100 years later. A review from Sunday21.
Mitsouko by Guerlain perfume brand celebrates its 100th anniversary. This time the perfume was released as part of a limited edition of 3099 bottles, which are decorated with gold leaf and paintings by Japanese craftsmen. The title refers to a novel published in 1909, written by Claude Farrera. The protagonist had the name Mitsuko, which translates from Japanese as "a trickle of honey," and in Chinese the hieroglyph means "mystery. It was in 1919 that one of the cult scents with Asian exoticism was first created. This composition was composed by Jacques Garlene himself and it was one of the first fruit and chypre fragrances in the history of perfume art. Among the admirers of this perfume one can find famous people, Charlie Chaplin, Ingrid Bergman, Wallis Simpson, Princess Diana and others. What is interesting is that the cap in the form of inverted heart was initially created for one perfume, but then became a business card for the whole brand, the bottle itself is quite beautiful and decorated with gold leaf according to the Japanese technique of "Hirashi".
Guerlain Mitsouko is an excellent perfume that has been tested for centuries.
Artist Suita Nakatsuka decorated the bottle with a plum tree branch, which symbolizes Mitsouko herself from the work as if it were a bridge that connects east and west. Female fruity chypre perfume begins with citrus notes, decorated with jasmine buds, the freshness of bergamot and a beautiful, noble rose. In the middle you will hear the smell of lilac with a ripe peach, which is also complemented by jasmine, beautiful ylang-ylang and again a rose. At the very end there is an excellent, pleasant trail of spices, precious amber, majestic vetiver and oak moss. It is for this perfume and its bottles that Hakuichi workshop professionals tried to decorate its surface with gold. By the way, the famous Golden Pavilion in Japan was restored by the same workshop. The limited edition fragrance Guerlain Mitsouko is produced in Eau de Parfum concentration in 75 milliliters at $700 for one.
