ASUS ZenBook 14 UX434FN notebook with modern Screen PAD 2.0, screen instead of touchpad technology. Review from Sunday21.

Of course, Apple's MacBook is the most premium notebook, but other campaigns are already breathing into the back of the computer industry titans. This time we present a new notebook from ASUS Taiwan, namely an updated version of the premium ZenBook series. This device is called ASUS ZenBook 14 UX434FN, in which the most important feature is Screen Pad 2.0, which replaced the traditional touchpad. Previously this technology was already practiced in ZenBook Pro version 15, so it would be a sin not to implement it again in this line. Also the notebook itself has a lot of premium innovations, and it works adequately with Windows 10. Among the advantages, of course, it is worth noting at once very high quality materials from which it is made, and the assembly itself is really premium. In this case, the laptop retains its compact size and good internal characteristics.

Design solution and opinion about the assembly of ASUS ZenBook 14 UX434FN.

ASUS will always meet the needs of any user. With a focus on traditional compact size, along with power and convenience, they remain true to their ideals. The size of the notebook in the closed form is comparable to the sheet A4, and weighs rather small, about 1.19 kilograms, which makes it very mobile and compact in the truest sense of the word. What is interesting is that the cover itself is made of metal, and also surprises its concentric circular design, it looks rather interesting. The case is made of plastic, which gives less weight to the notebook itself. There are familiar USB 3.1 Type-C and USB Type-A ports, HDMI and a charging slot. On the right side of the device there is a USB 2.0 port, one combined 3 mm for headsets and a separate slot for a MicroSD memory card. When you open the cover you immediately realize that you have a modern device in front of you. The 13.3 inch display has a narrow frame and covers the front panel by 92 percent. The design and construction are at a first-class level, the hinges of the top cover opening guarantee smooth turns, the screen is always in a stable position.

The keyboard and innovative ScreenPad 2.0 technology make the notebook ultra-modern.

The ASUS ZenBook 14 is designed for everyday use. The keyboard has adjustable white backlighting, all keys are flexible and responsive, and only 1.4mm apart. The work with the keyboard is quite comfortable and quiet. A new trend in technology is the ScreenPad, located in place of the usual touchpad. It is a 5.65 inch screen with Full HD+ resolution, which is well protected from all kinds of stains, thanks to the glass coating. It can be used in many different ways, i.e. using its digital panel, calculator, additional functions of different programs or even keyboard shortcuts, it supports gesture recognition. It is recognized by the system as a second screen, which is very convenient to use.

An integrated graphics card is Intel UHD Graphics 620, and a discrete adapter is Nvidia GeForce MX250 with 2 GB of dedicated video memory. The standard configuration has 8 GB of RAM, and can also be 512 GB of SSD. The processor runs at 1.8 GHz and can be accelerated up to 4.6 GHz using Turbo Boost technology. Let's sum it up, it's a great device with a lot of interesting technologies, but still don't forget that it's more suitable for office work, and will help in matters of using graphics programs, gamers shouldn't put much hope in the gaming environment, and the rest of the tasks a notebook can do 100%.
